Christchurch-based duo featuring Crystal Mathieson on vocals and Des Newton on guitar and vocals.
 Before teaming up with Des, Crystal had a background of singing in musical stage shows and vocal groups. She is a gifted natural singer with impeccable pitch and phrasing, and a wonderfully expressive voice.
Singer and guitarist Des is one of the most sought-after and experienced local performers, having played in bands and performed solo for many years including several long-term residencies. He has appeared with several high- profile NZ artists and performing on television.

About Tasha
Tasha is classically trained and has been singing professionally for over 5 years. She has the ability to read the crowd well and enjoys the banter with the audience. Tasha has no problem sharing the microphone and enjoys the singalongs that often just happen when Soulshine Duo is on stage. Tasha’s strength is in the rock anthems, the soul classics and even a little hard rock utilising her powerhouse vocals. Tasha has many singing achievements over the years, the latest being the privilege to sing to HRH Prince Harry on his royal visit in May!
About Stu
Back in the day Stu was a high school violinist. Nowadays, Stu is a musician and songwriter who has been playing guitar for a very long time, and has been performing in choirs, bands and duos for at least 10 years, as a guitarist, lead vocalist and percussionist and playing every kind of music from pop, rock, acoustic, reggae, jazz and Latin. Stu has been a part of some of Christchurch’s well known choirs including the Christchurch Pops Choir, the Jazz School Choir and A Capellago world music choir.
New duo SouthField is led by accomplished guitarist/vocalist Dave McKenzie and vocalist Katrina Keenan.
Dave and Katrina have over 20 years of combined experience performing at bars, weddings, birthdays, corporate functions and events. In addition, Katrina has also supported international artists Charley Pride and Gene Pitney.
Bought together by a love of music and a passion for performing SouthField offer an extensive repertoire, playing the hits and classic sing along songs from the 60s through to the early 2000s.
With quality vocals, acoustic guitar and a selection of the highest quality backing tracks SouthField offers an entertainment package to cater for any audience.

Sound Pirates is a new exciting Christchurch band that are ready for weddings, parties, pubs you name it!
Music is very much in A.J’s blood, with many years experience in the industry as a soloist, part of a duo and in full live bands. Was most recently in Retrosonic, a 4 piece rock band which enjoyed a successful reputation around Christchurch & surrounding areas.
Shelley has over 8 yrs performance experience and 14yrs experience as a vocalist. Most recently in duo X-Quiz-It for 2 1/2yrs, and before that trio, DC3, for over 3 years, playing at a variety of venues around Christchurch and the wider Canterbury area.
Ryan Hawes and Tony O’Brien have played in a number of local bands over the last 20 years or so (notably The Crush and Flying Blind) and therefore have plenty of experience in live band work. We play live guitar, bass and vocals and use recorded drums, backing guitars and keyboards.
Our main differentiator is that we have recorded most of our backing tracks ourselves, rather than relying on Internet downloads.  This means we aren’t limited to only those tracks that can be found on the Internet and can therefore do virtually any song we choose (including a number of NZ songs, which are virtually impossible to find MIDI tracks for). It also means that, because we use sampled drum sounds and record real guitars in the backing tracks, our backing track doesn’t sound computer-generated at all and is pretty much as authentic-sounding as we can get it. In short, we can get a full band sound into a relatively small space.
