Sign Of The Firebird is a Christchurch covers band that plays everything the other bands cant! Specialising in the original rock of old, The Who, Deep Purple, Hendrix, The Doors, even The Beatles, these guys will take you back and remind you how music was supposed to be played, with everything from classic epic masterpieces to party anthems, and then throw in a few select modern wonders just to keep you on your toes.’

Smashbox is a four piece Christchurch band which offers fun and excitement in their performances.

Smashbox give everything to every gig. Full of energy & ready to get the crowd up singing & dancing with a full range of songs from the latest crowd favourites back to the 1950’s. We pride ourselves on the high level of entertainment and humour we bring to our performances. We are a highly professional band whilst not loosing the relaxed nature of our members. Smashbox have been playing together for 4 years, but have over 50 years experience playing gigs between us. We play functions, formals, weddings, 21sts and regular pub gigs in and around Christchurch.

Sha-Low is a 3 piece band From South Canterbury and will play all over Canterbury and Christchurch. We play country, rock n roll, middle of the road & blues.  Mitchell Low one of the guitarists has been playing music since he was 5 years old and plays drums, guitar, bass, and vocal plus teaches guitar and drums in Timaru.  Shane Clarke who is the bass player has been involved in music since he was 5 years old and plays Drums, Guitar, Bass and vocal. Shane also teaches Drums in Timaru.  Maurice Sammons the third member plays Lead Guitar and has over 40 years experience in music. He has lived and travelled in Aussie for a number of years and has toured with some well known acts, Maurice use to play for Timaru band “Solid Gold”. This is our band and hope you enjoy our clips. We don’t just bring good music we also bring entertainment and I’m sure your customers and guests will leave with a smile.

Just a quick email to say that Shadow Puppet were amazing!! They were so flexible and friendly and the dance floor was going all night

I could not fault the boys at all. They were on time,very easy going and a total pleasure to deal with. It was easy to see theylove what they do, even being very happy to continue to play regardless of the horrible weather. And once again, doing their best to fit the Ice Fest gig in regardless of the fact they had another big set afterwards at the Carlton and on such short notice. I really really do wish every band wasthat easy and that much of a pleasure to deal with .Prior to booking Shadow Puppet I had never seen them perform before. M ypartner suggested I look into them so did a bit of research to find they had performed at quite a few places around Christchurch and, after hearing such great feedback from both my colleagues and friends decided to contact you about booking them. I am very glad I did and, while I was not there for the entire night, was absolutely stoked with what I saw and heard. They played a great range of songs but put their own fresh twist into them..I am more than happy for anyone to contact me if they would like to enquire about them- I am only to happy to give them the amazing credit they deserve!!

We got married at Langdale Winery on Friday 27th March 2015 and had Shadow Puppet as our band. Just want to pass on how amazing they were! I reckon they made the night, everyone was up and dancing the whole time and we received so much positive feedback from our guests. A fantastic band that we will definitely be recommending.

Thought I’d drop you a note and say THANKS – Shadow Puppet were just awesome on Saturday night, everyone commented on how great they were, the music was just great and the crowd were boogie-ing all night!! Well it went literally amazing. I had such a good and positive response from the students, especially the band.

This year we had way more students on the dance floor and I asked many of them on their thoughts on ‘The Shadow Puppets.’ Their response was how unique they are with their style, plus the wide range of music they played from some good old classics to the songs we hear on our radio today.
