Fleck

This act is no longer performing, but check out our range of current acts at our sister site Christchurch Entertainment Bureau

This outstanding duo features Andy Page on vocals, electric and bass guitar with Nic Pegg on acoustic and electric guitar, bass, harmonica and vocals. Fleck are full time professional musicians who perform in bars, hotels, private functions, weddings, birthdays and corporate events throughout Canterbury and the West Coast.

For over 10 years they have been resident at Chats Bar in Christchurch every Thursday night where they have an ethusiatic following.

Both Andy and Nic have played in many bands previously, so bring a wealth of experience to Fleck having played many different genres of music over the years; they embrace the use of the latest technology to present a full band, high quality sound.

Their considerable repertoire includes music from The Beatles and Pink Floyd era through to recent years and is designed to be flexible to suit whatever the occasion or mood requires.

Andy Page has been a part of a number of bands such as The Alley Cats, Jambusters, Spinner, USZ and for the past 12 years the duo Calder Page. They were in fact the first two piece band to play at a number of venues which would otherwise have had larger acts, a policy of keeping their lungs and fingers as busy as possible, resulting in an experience matching that of bands, which take up a lot more space and demand a much larger cheque at an evenings conclusion. He has also fronted a few tribute bands – The Doors Show, Rod Stuart and The Commitments, just to name a few and also spends a lot of time on his original music.

One of a Fleck’s best assets is the ability to have total control of the volume that an audience faces, something that Fleck is very sensitive to and always open to suggestions from patrons. Their repertoire has evolved from many years of observing audiences reactions to a large range of popular songs, with classic dance songs of the seventies and the eighties continuing to be the most popular. They also have a number of quieter pieces, which provide a pleasant setting earlier in an evening when people are still eating or wishing to greet guests to a function. This repertoire numbers over one hundred songs and as a typical night out will demand forty to fifty items, sets will often be adjusted to accommodate for requests and general audience preferences. If requested, the band can learn a special item for a couple’s first wedding dance. Fleck however are always armed with a compact disc player and take no offence if a couple would prefer to dance to the original recording of a song that has special significance to them

There are many different forms of entertainment to choose from now days, but quality of sound and entertainment can vary appreciably. The only safe way to ensure that you make a well judged booking is to go out and see some bands. Fleck openly encourages that you come and see them entertain at one of their many public engagements as they have full confidence that you will like what you see and hear. This is also a good opportunity to meet Andy and Andy, and to discuss any questions that you might have. Playtime Promotions can be contacted for a list of upcoming dates and venues where Fleck will be entertaining, and can also fax or e-mail out a copy of their repertoire.

Fleck is one of Christchurch leading wedding bands and specialise in birthdays, weddings etc.

I’d just like to say a huge THANK YOU to FLECK for doing such a great job at our wedding on 27 October. They did a brilliant rendition of our first dance, Dave Dobbyns “Oughta be in love”, I know they put a lot of work into it and they really pulled it off!
Fleck played Dave Dobbyn again as the last song of the night, which was a nice touch and a great end to the night (and we got to do our dance again!). It was also great that they thought of us when they played taped music during their breaks and put on Exponents for us – so cool!

We had lots of positive comments about Fleck, the guests thought they were great and liked the trumpet and the range of songs they played

Can you please pass on a massive thank you to Andy and Andy in Fleck who performed at our wedding on the 16 April at Terrace Downs. They did the most amazing job and all our guests were raving about them for days after.  So many people said they hadn’t danced for that long in ages !! They were simply the best.
